Hello there! My name is Sara Belsky. I recently graduated from Butler University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Creative Media and Entertainment.

Movies have always been a huge part of my life. They can be a great way to connect with others, a fun way to escape, a way to learn new things, or just a way to relax and enjoy some entertainment. They have the power to mean a lot to different people in different ways.

Side Note

Like many families in the early 2000s, my family made weekly trips to the grocery store. At the end of these outings, we would always make a stop at the RedBox machine. For me, at the tender age of 8, this was the pinnacle of my week. We would select a movie to take home and eagerly anticipate our Friday movie nights—a cherished tradition within our Belsky family, accompanied by an indulgent slice of pizza.

One fateful week, I, at the age of 8, made a grave mistake and was grounded. As a consequence, I was forbidden from watching the movie we had rented that week. At that tender age, this restriction was utterly devastating to me. Looking back, I am not proud of my reaction, but it serves as a testament to my profound love for movies.

In the dead of the night, on a Thursday, I embarked on a clandestine mission, sneaking downstairs and retrieving the movie. I then ascended to my room, determined to enjoy it without any interruptions. The following day, as movie time approached, the DVD remained mysteriously absent. Eventually, my parents inquired about the whereabouts of the movie. My response, in a moment of defiance, was, “If I cannot watch the movie, then no one else can.”

Back to the Important Stuff

Movies hold immense personal significance for individuals, and what captivates me is how they often stem from countless seemingly insignificant decisions—like camera positioning or character attire. The profound impact of these choices on a movie’s overall tone, value, and message is truly remarkable. It’s for these reasons that I wholeheartedly declare my love for movies.

Growing up in a music-oriented household, I was fortunate enough to attend all of my uncle Moe.’s concerts. Music permeated our home, and since starting school, I’ve maintained this tradition by keeping music playing 24/7. In college, I embraced this passion by attending concerts regularly. Concerts have always been a source of immense joy and excitement for me—they’re truly special experiences. I recently shared this enthusiasm with my brother, who isn’t particularly fond of concerts. People from all walks of life travel hundreds of miles and make significant sacrifices to simply enjoy live music. Music has the incredible power to unite people from diverse backgrounds. Considering all this, I can confidently label myself as a music enthusiast.

Beyond my love for media and movies, I am also passionate about travel. I’ve had the privilege of visiting numerous captivating destinations, including London, Nice, Paris, Rome, Venice, Florence, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. Additionally, I’m an avid runner and recently completed my first race in London.
